🗓️When?

  1. Time of Menhir

  2. Collapse of Menhir

  3. Rebirth of Menhir

The history of Sundsten can be divided into three parts: the time of Menhir, the collapse of Menhir and the rebirth of Menhir.

  1. Time of Menhir

The origins reveal us a dreary and arid planet at the edge of the galaxy, kept alive only by the frequency of a low-pitched sound coming from its depths.

In the middle of a mountain belt at the north pole of Sundsten, the Elders, part of a nomadic civilization, were attracted by a loud sound to a huge pit. An upside-down stone dome levitated above it and amplified the voice of the planet. Marked as the origin point by the nomads, the place became the foundation of Menhir which would later host the new community.

According to the memories of the first civilization, Menhir was meant to be the only populated settlement in the vast land that covered the entire Sundsten. However, in its development, the Capital chose to spread and shatter its consciousness into nine lands far beyond the confines of the city.

These nine pieces symbolised Menhir’s greatest level of prosperity and at the same time, they managed to create the highest vibration and frequency the planet had ever produced.

In its heyday, after the golden era had begun, the city was populated not only by locals, but also by merchants and colonies — tourists from other planets who came to Menhir for its high vibration and its flourishing life. In the development of the capital city and as the population grew, the sound of the dome remained at a high-pitched frequency, enough for the planet to provide favorable environmental conditions and sufficient resources in this golden era.

The new resources brought by the tourists from other planets benefited the locals, encouraging many to migrate to the nine lands and to spread across Sundsten. The main reason behind this repopulation was to build new cities, which would support the high frequency of Menhir.

Every day, hundreds of shuttles would land in the city bringing new trading goods and foreign societies, which would support the planet’s prosperity.

  1. Collapse of Menhir

In that golden age, as a prosperous and independent model, the planet became the target of foreign civilizations which led to administrative conflicts, increased crime rates and population losses. The state of decay was highlighted by every lost life and by every collapsed region, which decreased the once high-pitched frequency into a low, deep sound.

Left with far too few inhabitants, the planet struggled to survive. The vibration of Menhir, too low to sustain life as before, was about to disappear. Just as the concept of symbiosis is defined as two or more parts that require each other in order to survive, the citizens of Menhir and the planet needed each other in order to thrive.

The Monolith was built in honour of the planet not only as a temple under the dome and around the pit, but also as an archive for the spirit of this civilization. In an unfortunate scenario, as the one being presented, the collective consciousness of the last survivors would be protected in the walls of the Monolith until the planet heals itself enough to raise the sound again.

  1. Rebirth of Menhir

After a long pause, silent but still alive, the Dome makes its low sound heard again, echoing throughout the land. From the rim walls of the Monolith, Menhir gives birth to new figures, a shadow of the previous civilization springing into existence. The First Travelers are part of a new civilization, but none of them with any trace of memory from the past life.

The new citizens are the participants of the planet's story, each of them helping the Dome remember the lost city's prosperous state. The shattered memories will now be collected every week, in the walls of the Monolith, during a series of Trials. After enduring the Trials, the Travelers will return to the Dome with the precious artifacts they collected from different areas of the city, awaiting to get the desired orb and a golden Ticket as a reward from the Dome. These items serve as a symbol of their bravery and a reminder of their quest for glory.

In the upcoming days, they can choose to sacrifice their Ticket, a selfless gesture that could yield rewards, or to hold onto them, trading the Tickets for gold, fueling Menhir’s economy. These actions are vital in order to restore the most complete and accurate memories of the planet, which will raise the vibration and will help the civilization prosper and reach its greatest potential.

Now dusty and ruined, Menhir and the Dome will build up to the highest state they once had. The mission of each participant is to explore the city in an attempt to retrieve information, artifacts and resources. These elements strengthen the new order and raise the planet’s vibration to a high and pure level.
